Jayhawks get huge road win
Tvyi Davis leads MCC with a 29pt 12reb performace
The Muskegon Jayhawks traveled across the mighty Mackinac Bridge this weekend to Bay College to play the Norse in another conference game.
The Jayhawks had a solid first quarter with a strong offense taking a 12-point lead. In the second quarter the Norse defense switched to a full court press and managed to change to pace of the game to a two point back and forth battle. Coming back after halftime, the Norse continued to press, and the Lady Jays managed to break through multiple times to showcase their offensive power even with two players fouling out in the fourth quarter. After some tough calls and a strenuous fight in the fourth, the Jayhawks took home another road win 77-74 over the Norse.
Leading the Jayhawks was Tyvi Davis (#23) with 29 points, 12 rebounds, 5 steals, and 3 assists. Anna Lundquist (#30) with 18 points, 13 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block. Arrionna Williams (#20) with 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. And Kennedy Adams (#11) with 6 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 assist.
Head Coach Jason Cooper reflected after the game, "We had a great conference win today. Tyvi led us offensively and kept us in the game and then the rest of our team defensively came together in the second half when we needed it. As always, I am very excited and super proud of our team."
The Lady Jays play at home this Thursday 1/23 (1/22 Wednesday original date was rescheduled do to the weather) versus Montcalm Community College. Tip-off is at 5:30. Go Jayhawks!
